recieved today in excellent shape thank you
There are some good things about this scooter:
a) The armrests are both adjustable and removable (in fact we actually like it better without the arms and as a suggestion to Golden, ***we wish there was an alternate style of cane holder for attaching in the armrest receiver instead).
b) The control panel is easy to understand and works well.
c) You can put the scooter in neutral to maneuver it someplace out of the way if the battery overloads and has to rest for 5 minutes beforE resetting the breaker switch.
d) the location of the charger port on the tiller doesn't necessitate much in the way of bending over as it is on the left under the control panel.
e) It comes with two colors of plastic shrouds so if you don't feel like driving a red scooter or if something gets damaged you can switch to blue.
f) The seat is roomy and comfy ( I see no need to purchase an upgraded seat for this scooter) and it pivots for easy access or use by a table.
g) It has more clearance and longer battery life than any other scooter we looked at. I am told it should do well on relatively level hard packed trails at the national park (I will come back to this and add more once I test that theory but that is what the company told me) We have already tested it at the San Diego Zoo where it took even the steep path through tiger trail without a problem.
h) The battery life was great for both of the all day excursions we have gone on (zoo and a local festival).
i) There is a receiver on the back of the seat to mount a cane holder or O2 tank holder or additional basket (purchased separately).
j) You can set top speed to less than the maximum of which the scooter is capable if you wish.
Some drawbacks: While my husband loves the scooter, you should be aware that...
a) Unlike the Buzzaround XL model, you can't simply take out the batteries and bring them inside to charge at an outlet in addition to plugging in the charging cord to the scooter under the tiller handle to charge the bat...
I knew I wanted a mobility scooter after I rented a Pride Go Go for a week. It was one the provider had that was about 10 years old and very small. It did get me around, but it was small, slow, rough riding and didn't go very long on a charge. But I had a blast with my granddaughter who is 7! She got her little scooter, and I got mine, and we had so much fun I knew I had to get one! I researched all the scooters for over 2 months including Pride, Drive, and several others online. It's hard to find the scooters at providers so I had to do a lot of research on the specifications--very important. I paid attention to size of batteries, suspension, and size of motors and warranties. I found out that the manufacturers had a 2 year warranty ON PARTS ONLY! None of them carry warranties on labor even if it breaks down the first month. There are 2 ways to go with this in mind either buy from a local provider who supplies service or an online provider who provides in-home service At the end of my search I happened to see a Golden Buzzaround and thought that I would do the research and found out that there was a brand new model that had suspension (important), long battery capacity and a bigger motor which makes for a faster speed. Most go tops at 4 mph, but the Extreme goes 5 mph which is very noticeable. Think of it is 20% faster than the regular scooters. I finally ordered it online when I found a provider who was providing a Golden service contract for 3 years at NO EXTRA CHARGE! In addition they had a promotion to throw in a cart ($145) for FREE! That did it. I purchased it and have had it for about a week. It's a DREAM! It's fast, comfortable and has long battery life. It's more than the cheap ones you can get, but well worth the extra cost. As far as the service I haven't had any problems. If I do I'll update this Review. I got the 4-wheel for more stability although the turning radius is wider than the 3-wheel. Hey, I know how to back up!
